My name is Steve Sutton and I work as a Sports Massage Therapist for Clinic62

After many years working in Sales, I decided that the time had come to finally pursue a career in the profession that I had genuine interest and real passion for. Giving up corporate life, I returned to college to retrain and now hold a VTCT Diploma in Sports Massage and have been working as a therapist for the last 6 years. I am a registered member of the Association of Soft Tissue Therapists (SMA), DBS checked and have full liability insurance.

Having played Rugby for over 20 years, I understand first-hand the benefits of regular massage and body maintenance. I firmly believe that anyone involved in regular sport at any level should include massage as part of their ongoing training and conditioning regime. Deep Tissue treatments are not just for sports people though, far from it. Anyone can benefit, especially people with physically demanding jobs, or occupations which involve long periods sitting at a desk where postural stress can cause aches, pains and play havoc with your body.

I currently work with a very wide range of clients. From elite level athletes, cyclists, hockey players, footballers and rugby players, to those in manual professions, office or more sedentary based roles as well as older individuals who just need some general body maintenance and a little help to keep mobile and active.

What can Clinic62 offer you?

Regular massage has many benefits and can help towards improving general health and wellbeing. This can be physical and physiological. Deep tissue treatments are not just for Sports people, anyone can benefit. From those with physically demanding jobs, to more sedentary occupations where postural stress can cause aches and pains.

Muscle Conditioning

Healthy muscles let you move freely and keep your body strong. Reduce muscle tension and increase flexibility.

Remedial Massage

Increased blood flow helps to repair any damaged tissue which speeds recovery of muscles and tendons.

Injury Prevention

Prevent muscle strains, tears and pulls by increasing your strength, flexibility and elasticity of tissue.

What is the difference between a Sports
Massage and Deep
Tissue Massage?

  • Sports massage and deep tissue massage share similarities but serve different purposes. Sports massage targets recovery, conditioning, and injury prevention, specifically for athletes, while deep tissue massage focuses on relieving chronic muscle tension and stress.

  • Both treatments are beneficial not only for athletes but also for office workers with postural tension or those in physically demanding jobs, as these conditions can be similar to those faced in sports.

  • Many active individuals incorporate massage into their routine for improved performance, recovery, and conditioning. Athletes often use massage before and/or after events, as it benefits both preparation and recovery.

TESTIMONIALS

I've been coming to Steve for Sports Massage for the last few years and he's absolutely fantastic.

I'm a GB cyclist aqnd have ridden the full Tour de France, so my legs are put under extreme pressure, but with the right amount of rest and regular maintenance from Steve I can keep going. He's also great to chat too and really knows his stuff! I highly recommend.
